Dear Families,

One of the most exciting things about preschool is meeting and
learning about everyone in our class at the beginning of the new year, so I wanted to take this opportunity to share some things about myself with you.
My name is Laurie O’Gorman.  My husband’s name is Kevin; we have two sons whose names are Tim and Patrick.  We’ve lived in St. Bede Parish for 30 years.  My children both graduated from St. Bede School. Tim is an attorney and is married to my wonderful daughter-in law, Katie.  Patrick is  a stationary engineer and is continuing his education in Labor Relations.  I love spending time with my family. This summer, we spent as much time as we could swimming and relaxing in our own backyard !
I graduated with a degree in education from Bradley University. My
first teaching job was at St. Anthony School in Bridgeport where I taught
fourth grade for seven years.  I then taught first grade at Christ the King
for one year.  It was at this point that Tim was born and then Patrick three
years later so I decided to stay at home to take care of them when they were young.  When Patrick was in kindergarten, I began substitute teaching at St. Bede.  A new kindergarten class opened up when he was in second grade and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to go back to work.
I didn't go to  preschool when I was young so I often say I've decided to stay in early childhood forever because I like it so much!  And, I do love teaching young children!  I feel very much at home in early childhood.  I love guiding each child through the learning process with hand-on experiences, creativity and play.  I’m truly looking forward to getting to know all the children in my classroom this year together with their families and to an educational, fun-filled year.

Sincerely,
Mrs. O'Gorman
